Hi guys,

I've recently updated Daemon Tools Lite and it suddenly stopped working.
Everytime I try to add a virtual device I get the message "DAEMON Tools Pro driver error: 1500" and won't let me add a device.

I've tried to completely uninstall and reinstall several times, but no luck as of yet. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit by the way.

Windows cannot read from disk might be corrupted or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows. I have tried v.4.46.1 and V.4.47.1 and now pro, non have worked thats as far as i get. Same happens as below in PRO.

Wanted to download Nintendo, Legend of Zelda skyward sword ISO (4.37GB) and view it on my cpu. Downloaded Daemon tools lite. Downloaded game using uTorrent.. Transferred ISO file to Daemon Lite, Mounted file. Went to My computer and left double click on Virtual drive icon, and this is what the pop up reads.( Windows cannot read from disk might be corrupted or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows). Same response with the two different virtual drives in Daemon Lite tools and two different Torrent Legend of Zelda skyward sword iso files.. What am I doing wrong can’t view game?.

Yasu 1.6 and DTLite 4.47 - "Unable to authenticate" TRIED RENAMING - Blazkowicz help!

Short background: there are three errors, each arising when I try a solution to the last.

Trying to run C&C: Tiberium wars through DTLite 4.47, I get the "Conflict with Emulation Software Detected".
No worries though, my research says I just need to install YASU and use that.
Go to install YASU, but I get "Cannot locate daemon.exe"
All the reports I read is that the solution is just to rename them, so rename "DTlite" to "daemon" (NO .exe @ the end, if I include .exe it does not work)--but then I get the error
"Unable to authenticate Daemon tools" from YASU
All of my research here says "use the latest version" or "wait for update" but the threads were all started in 2009...
So now I realize I'm pretty deep into this sequence of errors, and that the more errors I work down the chain the less likely any one fix will be applicable. Also, there may be better fixes to my problem made since 2009.
If Blazkowicz is reading this: Hi! You are the mod I saw most often in the threads I researched for each of these errors, I think you might be the one best acquainted with the issues.
I'm using win7 x64bit, if there's any other information you need just tell me how to find it and I'll paste it.

Please help & thank you!

DT drive and Windows 8 x64 issues

Fresh installation of Windows 8 and DTLite4471-0333. Current physical drives attached is 3 hard drives (C,D,E). USB CDROM was disconnected after OS install completed.

DT installation created a DT drive as drive letter F. I attempted to setup a SCSI drive as G and a popup appeared telling me I needed to install SPTD which I agreed. Everything worked fine. I rebooted, verified everything still worked. I installed the NVIDIA video driver. Rebooted and verified everything still worked in DT.
I started Windows update and after the reboot the DT drive stopped showing up within the DT interface however within the Daemon Tools GUI the SCSI drive still shows up but the DT drive is gone. In my Computer, I still have both virtual CDROMS showing up.

I have a game emulator that is looking for a DT drive and it can;t find one now. If I remove the drives within the GUI and attempt to install a new DT drive I get the infamous "unable to install virtual drive" error. And low and behold no new drive letter in the DT GUI but My Computer shows another drive letter added (BT-ROM Drive just like the SCSI drive (G)is labeled). I can add SCSI drives all day long but not a DT successfully.

In device manager, I have the Daemon tools bus driver present. Under dvd/cdrom I have DTsoft Virtual Cdrom device and a TWNLQ 3G91RK SCSI CDROM device.

What I have done:
Reloaded windows - same results
I have run the Microsoft CD tool which does no good considering the drive shows up but I can;t mount anything with it.
I have looked for the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
This key doesn't exist in Windows 8 at the location specified. Looking at every entry in the registry that matches the string I found several and none of them had upperfilter or lower filter in them
I've run devcon and it states this can;t run on my system.
On my first build, I even tried manually deleting the registry keys and it tells me I don;t have permission even though I am a local admin and have gone into the registry key properties, taken ownership etc...etc...
Uninstalling and reinstalling. When reinstalling it adds a new SCSI drive letter while it also adds back the old drive letters in my computer (clearly reading from the old keys that weren;t removed properly on the uninstall.

Without a doubt MS update caused this - but I'll be damned if I know what to do at this point. So at this point I'm really in need of some expert help.

I'm willing to let a DT mod/dev remote into my system all day long if they need to. What I can;t afford is another install as this is a MSDN image and I'm out of activation keys.
Someone please help me. Thanks.

So I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and I reinstalled DT Lite and I get the

"Unable to add virtual device" error.

Avira is turned off and security settings are also disabled. My DVD drive is now not working.

I would appreciate some help. I have reinstalled DT Lite three times now - no luck.

I have installed Daemon Tools Lite v4.47.1. It has created Pro version reg key. Is it something normal? I'm attaching a snapshot of the issue here to understand it.

Associating a non supported, but valid extension

TL;DR: My question is, how can I get DT to understand and mount another extension?

I used to use another software package that would save its images to another file format. I stopped because it became a serious resource hog just sitting there doing nothing. Not to mention their yearly "upgrade for half price" crap that didn't give me anything particularly interesting. For entertainment value, I decided to see if Daemon Tools could convert from the other format to something DT would support. I found out it could. I even tried installing the game off the new image and it worked.

So then I tried just dragging and dropping the other format onto a drive in the DT Client, and low-and-behold, DT saw it and I had access to it.

I FULLY understand that this wouldn't work EVERY TIME for other file formats, and it may not even be RECOMMENDED by DT, but in this case, it seems to work, and it'd save me from having to convert a lot of old images to a new format.

I've tried associating the extension wtih DTPro.exe directly but that just launches the DT GUI. I suppose I could go and find out in the registry where it launches the MDX extension, but was hoping for something more simplistic.

Going to go and try just changing the extension of the files to MDX or ISO and see what blows up. *evil laugh*

Daemon Tools for Windows 8

I don't know if old versions are still supported, so just thought I'd enquire first. I've had an old Compaq computer running on Windows XP for at least 7-8 years now and was pretty happy with v3.4 installed. It worked perfectly for what I wanted to use Daemon Tools for.
I now have a new computer running on Windows 8 and my old Daemon Tools version installer doesn't seem compatible. If this version is no longer supported, then sorry for asking, but is there any way to make it work on Windows 8? I don't have the means to buy Daemon Tools for a while yet.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice I might receive

:distress::nightmare::distress: I have been looking through the forums, haven't found anything specifically to me on how to solve this. I updated my Windows 7 with the regular updates and suddenly the virtual devices are not able to mount or appear at all. I have restarted my computer, reinstalled DTL, updated DTL, restarted it after I did all that, added SCSI and restarted. I tried the Microsoft fix it, it did jack chit. I also saw something about autoruns... but i dont know how it works or what to do with it. I heard I needed to press F8 while restarting the computer... i didn't know where to go from there. Clearly im a professional at the computer:rolleyes:

Hidden window/BSOD on uninstall

I'm having a peculiar problem.

I've had DT lite installed and working perfectly until yesterday when the program screen refused to open (The process was running in the task manager, mounting my images worked fine but the program itself stayed on the task bar and I couldn't open it)

Now, I thought I could uninstall/reinstall it, but the I ran into a BSOD whenever I tried to do so. Now my images won't mount properly and I can't reinstall DT. Any thoughts?

I'm running Windows 7 x64 on a Macbook Pro with Boot Camp.
I've attatched the dump file.

Daemon Tools lite and mcafee

Mcafee said one of the files in daemon tools lite was a virus, but windows defender did not. Now, it has removed that file completely, and re-installing dtl just removes that file again. What should I do? Is mcafee just being stupid because it wants me to renew my subscription, although I do not want to, and is just trying to make it look like I need it? Someone, anyone, please respond soon.

Having issues with full uninstall.

So I just downloaded this and the first thing I did was create a new driver because I thought I needed it. When I realized I only needed one I tried to delete driver 0 (I do not change their names) when I tried to do that I got a blue screen error message and windows crashed then start up again.
I dedcided to just go with it but now I don't need the DAEMON tools lite at all so when I tried to uninstall fully I get the same message. I know I'm doing something wrong but how do I fix it so I can delete the drivers without it crashing my system?

Can't mount an image anymore (conflict?)

$

Hello folks,

For several months now, I can't get any image mounted onto Daemon Tools Lite (different versions tried). The virtual device has been created but no image gets mounted when I click "mount image".
I tried to uninstall then reinstall the software but nothing changed, the driver remains mute. I do have the "mounting image" little applet showing a few seconds, but that's it.
Of course I tried to mount several images, but it fails for every one of them, no matter the content. And these are .iso files I used to be able to mount before.

I assume it has to do with a conflict with some other software, but how can I figure out which one(s)? I can't remember when exactly this issue popped up.

Here's what I tried so far:
- Followed this thread http://forum.daemon-tools.cc/f19/dae...t-mount-28220/ but no fix came out of it for my problem
- Tried both actual Daemon Tools Lite 4.47.1 and downgrading to 4.35.6 (idea from thread above) without any positive result
- Installed / updated SPTDinst-v183-x64 before re-installing Daemon Tools, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything (it seems to be pre-installed in DT anyway nowadays anyway)
- Tried MagicDisc for the sake of curiosity and the outcome is the same : nothing happens.
- Checked the security issues that could be involved but haven't found any (I don't use any Zonealarm or McAfee stuff for example)

Anyone an idea? I kind of ran out of them - hence my registration here :-/

Thank you for your attention.
I'm running a Windows 7 64-Bit by the way.

I've had Daemon Tools Lite for some time and normally I just double click on an ISO file and it is mounted for me. Now I get an error message saying "Unable to add adapter. Insufficient privileges." I tried running the program as an admin but no dice.

I'm on windows 7.

Please help.

I feel like there is an advanced mode somewhere in the UI but I can't find it anywhere.

Hello everyone! I'm having a problem with installing a virtual driver. I previously used
magicdisc and was frustrated of the program. I had to follow these instructions (Vista Method) How to remove a driver permanently | Windows Problem Solver to permanently delete the virtual disc. And now I need another virtual driver (I prefer Daemon) but cannot install it because of the missing inf and pnf files. Can I have those files back?
