I also createt SCSI-drives. This drives are schown in DT-Dialog and useable.
Use the context to connect ISO-files with DT-drives is also not possible.

Does anyone know this Problem and how to fix this?

Help needed with DAEMON Tools Lite and CUE files

I just installed DAEMON Tools Lite 4.49.1.0356 on Windows XP Home Edition (SP3) and I can't seem to mount a CUE file I created on my Ubuntu 14.04 Linux (64-bit) system. The CUE and BIN files are in the same location, on the desktop, and when I try to open the CUE file, I get the following message:

Unable to mount image.

and that's it. The CUE file has "MOTOROLA" identified as the file type and the rest of the CUE file looks correct. I can mount the CUE file using CDEmu on Linux but I can't get the CUE file mounted in DAEMON Tools Lite on Windows XP.

Any ideas on what could be wrong or any suggestions on what to try to get the CUE file mounted? I created a CD, for a friend, and I want to mount the CUE file on Windows so I can use iTunes to create a CD insert.

Thanks in advance for your time!

SafeDisc mini-image - what sector do I start at?

Hi -

I have few games that (still) require a disc in the drive to start. Since I'm running low on space I'd like to compress the images (if possible) into mini-images.

One of those games is Sega Rally (the PC version that came out in 2007-2008). ((I didn't see this game listed on the forums page but I believe it uses SafeDisc 4.xx - please correct me if I'm wrong))

I've made a mdf/mds file from the original game disc using DAEMON tools pro advanced. Following a tutorial posted on these forums I've selected 'Convert Image' and selected 'Compress image data'. I've checked 'Clear sectors' but I've no idea what numbers to use.

Does anyone know what 'Start' and 'End' sectors I'm suppose to use?

Many thanks!

Hello

I am using Daemon Tools Lite version and I have a strange problem regarding a game.
I have the original disk of Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory, and I know that this game is protected with Starforce. I tried on one of my computers to create a backup image of the game DVD.
I tried withe blindwrite but it didn't work and then i tried with Alcohol 120 and it finished successfully to create the image. I installed the game from the image, it asked about the serial key I copied from the case of the DVD, restarted my computer and started the game.
Surprisingly ....it worked, the protection screen was checking to see if original medium is present and the game has started.
I have to mention that mds/mdf image was inserted in a SCSI virtual drive (the lite version of Daemon Tools does not create IDE virtual drives). The Daemon tools Drive was on the letter "F" and F was the first optical drive in my computer. The physical drive was on letter "Q" and it wasn't disabled or hidden in any way. The operating system i was using was Windows XP Professional SP3 - 32bits.

Now it gets interesting...
I took the image that worked on that computer on another computer of mine and tried to install the game there. Same Daemon Tools version, same drive letter for the virtual drive, same windows xp professional sp3 32bits.

I hope somebody here can explain me this behavior
thank you

Can't mount iso

Hello
I have DTLite 4.48.1.0348
When trying to mount an iso I get the message :
Impossible to mount image (translated from french)
I'm asking to mount in a situation where I have only 1 virtual drive (F:) and on this F:drive nothing is mounted yet
So I really can't get it - why is DT talking about unmounting
I really appreciated earlier versions but now this version I installed recently on win7 seems not very cool to me
I really need to get this iso mounted - please help if you can :)

Unable to Completely Uninstall Daemon Tools

Hello, first I'd like to say thanks for any help you can provide. Next, my problem is that I can't uninstall Daemon Tools. (Also, I'm using Windows 8 and this computer is about 5 months old. So, there shouldn't be any hardware difficulties.)

I installed Daemon Tools (DT) a couple of days ago. It worked perfectly, but yesterday, I tried to open a .bin file from a cd. I thought it might have sound effects I could use. Anyways, when I tried to mount the file, the mounting waiting message appeared. It stayed on way to long and nothing happened. I was unable to close Daemon Tools, so I used the Task Manager to shut down the program. I then tried to open the same file on a different program. It didn't work. I uninstalled the other program with no difficulty. I then tried to open up my computer, but it said the my computer folder had nothing inside of it. My C drive icon was also missing along with many icons on my desktop. I then restarted the compute

I started up the computer and everything appeared fine, I then opened Daemon Tools and tried to open the file again. DT wouldn't open at all. So, I decided to uninstall it. I was unable to uninstall DT because I had a DT process running, so I opened the Task Manager and tried to shut it down. I was able to shut down one process, but not the other. So, I then searched the internet, read some forum posts about people who seemed to have the same problems. So, I restarted the computer again and tried to open it in Safe Mode.

I was unable to open the computer in safe mode (I think I messed that up somehow. Windows 8 annoys me sometimes. ) So, I disabled my antivirus instead and tried to uninstall it. Didn't work. I then tried to uninstall it using the uninstaller that came with DT, didn't work. I did a couple other things, the computer performed really slowly. It finally froze while I was listening to windows media player. So, I restarted again.

I started the computer and tried to install sptd to see if the newer one would help, it didn't. So I tried to uninstall Daemon Tools manually. After an obscene amount of difficulty, I was able to shut down Daemon Tools processes and deleted the files in my programs. I then tried to delete the files under device manager. I was unable to.

So that's were I'm at now. I've tried everything I can find and think of. This is kind of effecting my computers performance, so I'd appreciate some assistance.

Thanks!

Daemon Tools stuck after crash + Critical System Errors

I attempted to mount an invalid image type with DT. This caused the program to have an error and crash. Since then, those things have happened:

-Daemon Tools will no longer open;
-It's still shown on the task manager as running, however, I cannot force close it
-The Virtual Drive is still shown on My Computer. However, if I attempt to open/right click it, the windows explorer freezes up and doesn't unstuck unless I force-reboot the computer
-Other programs that read from the disc drives also get stuck and crash when they attempt to check for the Drives. So far it's happened with both Media Player Classic and Speccy
-Rebooting my laptop normally doesn't work. It just says Rebooting indefinitely and never reboots
-Naturally, I can't mount images anymore either

Did I end up with a bad virtual drive after crashing DT? It refuses to launch, but the drive is still there and it's causing system-wide problems for me. How can I fix this?

Newbie stuck & now lost

Hi,
I mounted an iso file as it would not load correctly otherwise.
I have been using the file no problems when mounted in DT lite.

A couple of days i have noticed that the file would like to try and start itself when the pc starts.
Being a newbie i have unmounted "i think" the file,as now the software tells me to insert the disc.
Is there a way i can mount it again as i cant now find the iso file that it was working from.
Is there some kind of directory to show previously mounted files ?
Thanks

Looking for an extracted version of SPTD drivers

Hello,

I'm using Symantec ghost solution suite (GSS) to clone my computers. This is done by taking a live volume snapshot of my drive/partitions.

In order to work properly, the specific mass storage controller drivers must be integrated within a local driver database maintained by GSS. it's usually done by providing the manufacturer drivers whenever i need to add support for new controllers.

The cloning process won't start if an unknown controller is detected and is missing the correct driver. Daemon Tools fall into this category.

Right now, i'm looking for an unzipped / extracted version of the X86 SPDT driver and i should be good to go. I can't use it in its executable form, the .inf, .dll, .cat are mandatory

Can anyone help for that matter ?

thanks in advance !

Conflict with emulation software detected.

I bought an original copy of Need for Speed ProStreet.
First thing I did was making a ISO-file of the game with Daemon Tools Lite.
Then I put that on a NTFS formatted USB stick.
After that I put it the ISO-file on my other laptop and mounted it in the DT virtual disc drive using Daemon Tools Lite.
That worked and I installed the game.
When I tried to start it after installing I got the error "Conflict with emulation software detected".
What can I do now?

Please note, I am bad with PC stuff...
So, it can occur that I don't understand the very technical things.

Hi,

I recently updated my windows 8 laptop to windows 8.1.
Before when I was using windows 8 I could use daemon tools very well and whitout any problems. But After my update to 8.1 there came some weard errors.

I started daemon tools lite 4 and saw that there was no virtual disk diver created anymore.
So I tried to install a new one, but everytime I get an error that daemon tools isn't possible to create such disk driver. They also don't give more information about how to slove the problem.

Hello everyone,

This is my first time using DAEMON Tools forum and I would like to ask you several questions that I haven't found them answered yet. First of all I would like to inform you that I'm an absolute beginner when we are referring to using DAEMON Tools... So here we go:

I would like to create disc images of some game and software CDs/DVDs but I'm wondering what options I have for pick from the list: when it comes to creating disc image I'm always sticking to your guide but
Question 1: What reading speed (Attachment 1652) should I pick in order to create the perfect disc image ? I have read that slower takes longer but reduces the risk of errors in the imaging process so I think the slower the better... Correct me If I'm wrong !
Question 2: What type of file (Attachment 1653) should I save my disc image as when It comes to:
2.1 games ?
2.2 software ?
Question 3: Are there any differences in the quality of the created disc image when using Lite or any of the other DAEMON Tools products ?
Question 4: How can I see that a disc is protected and If so how can I "remove" its protection in order to create image of this disc ?
Question 5: Is the procedure of creating disc image of protected discs the same as your guide ?

I would like to request a moderator or a person who is absolutely sure to answer my questions !

Thanks in advance for your attention !

Installing DTLite 4491-0356 now with two browser hijacks

Dear DT Support,

I was a happy and satisfied Daemon Tools user, until yesterday. I got a new laptop with Win8.1 x64, and installed the version mentioned in the subject. I unclicked ALL 3rd party installations the tool offered. What happened:

- I got Chrome installed (?)
- two browser hijacks called mystartsearch and PodoWeb were also immediatly up'n'running on all my browsers

Unfortunately, nor Avast, nor AVG Free could completely remove the malware. Working in IT myself I could ave my data before I had to completely reinstall my laptop, but... what the heck?!

For now, I switchd to another software for mounting virtual devices, but would love to come back. When can we expect a solution?

Some spammy junk in the installer.

Ok, for some time now i can't download daemon tools like because of some junk in the installer.
You have to remove it if you want us to use your software.
And do, i wont add an exception or something.
You need to remove that and clean your installers.
I love this program, used it for quite a long time but now i cant anymore without that installer.

Thanks.

Newbie "Disk Imaging (Not Responding)" no disc found error in Tools Lite v4

After successfully making ISO files of software programs saved to USB thumb drive, now get ""Disk Imaging (Not Responding)" message.
Newbie with license for Lite 4 and attempting to do the most routine thing on PC OS Windows 7 64-bit. After clicking Make Image Icon, the next screen from the dropdown shows my DVD-CD laptop device, but even after clicking refresh it claims "No Disc". I have software original DVD from Quicken, and Microsoft, and Adobe. With the last two I was successful, but not with the one from Quicken. When I try the Adobe or MS disc that was previously successful, now it is NOT working.

Daemon Lite 4 must then be closed in Task Manager. I have tried severral times with no luck.

Thanks for the help of a newbie who is frustrated in setting up a different new laptop that has no optical drive.
