Problem with v5 lite install
Hello -- I just tried to install/update my current version of DT Lite (4.91) to v5
The install started for V5 and asked if I wanted to update the current version to v5, I responded yes, it started the process, but a pop-up error came up and said that it could not
remove the old version and stopped --
The old version was still (sorta) there -- but was unusable I had to go back to the 4.91
install to get it back --
Has any one else had this issue?
My OS is vista 32bit
Thanks
FPE

Says I already have it installed when I KNOW I do not.
So every time I attepmt to install Daemon Tools Lite, I get I message saying I already have it installed. However, neither option to uninstall works. I either get an error message or I get kicked out. When I attempted to manually uninstall the program, I realized I don't even have it. I looked at everything, even went through the product keys in Start>Run>Regedit. I have no idea what the problem is and I frankly need this program.

Intended double click behavior?
Basically when I double click an image file such as .iso. It would mount the image into the virtual drive. So far so good. However if I double click on another image file, with the previous .iso file still mounted in the virtual drive. Instead of replacing the previous image file in the virtual drive as you would intuitively assume it would. Daemon tools now goes into full idiot mode and adds a whole new virtual drive device with the new image file mounted in it instead.
Is this behavior intentional? If not, how can I fix it? If it is intended to function this way, is there anyway for me to modify this seemingly dumb behavior?
Thanks.

How to activate a paid license - asus motherboard
Hello there,
I just bought an Asus z97-Deluxe motherboard and the CD of support doesn't let me install daemon tools pro.
When I try to install it I choose "Paid License : you are going to activate a paid license" then it asks for my serial number and explain that my serial number is on disc-soft.com.
I've been there and I've created an account but I'm still stuck...
I've tried to put my S/N Motherboard in the "Product Upgrades" page but doesn't work either.
Thanks for your help !

DT Lite mounts .cue audio tracks without .bin data track?
Hi,
I'm having some iffy behavior with DT and bin/cue mounting - mounting .cue mounts only
the audio tracks while .bin opens only data files.
This way, either my game doesn't work, an old game that requires a CD present,
or there is no music in-game.
Some screenshots to explain it better:
.cue file opened directly with IsoBuster:

.cue file mounted with DT:

.bin file mounted with DT:

Why can't DT read .cue and it's appropriate .bin file "simultaneously"?

Problems with DT Lite in-program update feature
Hello,
why when I try to update DT Lite (from version 4.49 to 5.01) through the in-program update feature it shows an error message saying "The directory or file is corrupted and unredable"?
(sorry if my English isn't good, I'm not a native speaker)

Create Disk Image Bad Block Error
I would like to create a disk images of homeschool DVD’s to use on a road trip on laptop which does not have an internal optical drive. These are new disks which play successfully in an older standard DVD player (not Blu-ray) and function with additional menus to play each movie classroom session.
I downloaded DT6Pro. When trying to create a disk image, I got the error, "Read operation had hit a ECC/EDC bad (recoverable) block (4508)" on multiple disks. I was told by Damian Tools support that, “Some disc protections use bad blocks imitation to protect discs from copying.”
Following their suggestions, I lowered the read speed to the lowest setting. I also changed from .iso to .mdx to access "Ignore error and add sector to bad block map" or "Ignore error and generate content options."
After changing settings, I tried to create a disk image again and got the same error, "Read operation had hit a ECC/EDC bad (recoverable) block (4508)." I tried the Ignore block error settings both ways. Is it possible to recover a recoverable block? Is there anything else I can try?

DT Pro - self-creating drive
Hi,
Just two small questions.....
1) I have hard drives c:,d:,e: and f: - I put DVD roms on k:, l: and DT drive on m:. I left few letters between for additional usb hard drive or flash drive. After few restarts of my computer, DT creates (all by itself) a new virtual drive next in line (in my case drive g: ). After several more restarts I have 3-4 virtual drives, all empty. Why?
2) Is it possible with double click to mount image on first empty virtual drive? Before (I didn't use DT for a longer time now) it was posibble but now it creates a new virtual drive - in my case it won't put on "m:", it will create a new virtual drive on next empty drive letter (in my case g: ).
Thanks for your help

safedisc images are created without topology information
I am trying to create images of old games that are protected by safedisc v1 and v2, like
Metal Gear Solid 1.
Even selecting the correct profile, the images are never created correctly. The MDS files
created, does not contain any information regarding the topology of the disc.
This appears completely blank. Such files are only 688 bytes in size, when I try to visualize the file with the mdsviewer program, it is showed without the typical peaks and
valleys that we expect to see in such files.
Of course, without this information, the images do not work, even if I load the games
through the virtual drive of daemon. I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit SP1
and the version 6.1.0 build 484 of Daemon Tools Pro Advanced.
Please, any help will be greatly welcome.

Create Virtual Writeable Drive Fails Immediately
I'm using a trial version of Daemon Tools Ultra.
The ONLY reason I want this software is to create a virtual drive that other programs will write to and pretend it is an actual burner with a disk.
So I downloaded the software onto my windows 7 machine and every single time I try to use the "Create Writeable Virtual Device" it immediately fails, no reason, I hit the button and it just fails every single time.

Iso / Cue image problem
Hello,
I have several images (Sega Saturn and Sega Mega-CD), and I rip them to mp3 with the following utility:
https://github.com/notaz/picodrive/t...bin_to_cso_mp3
When I try to mount the cue file, Daemon Tools just open a Window that says "Image Invalid". If I try to mount the iso file it mounts fine. But if I do that, it doesn't mount the mp3 files as audio tracks.
Here is a cue file that refuses to mount Daemon Tools (tried version 4.49.1 and 5.01):
Anyone knows whats wrong?
Thanks!

DAEMON Tools Pro driver error: 8
Hi
Using Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit, English, with Chinese PRC Locale
Using Daemon Tools Ultra 3.0.0.0310
I am now getting an error (error code 8) as in the title of my post:
DAEMON Tools Pro driver error: 8
I can no longer mount any images of any type. I can no longer see the virtual CD-ROM drive that was usually there in Windows Explorer as a drive letter. It isn't there as a device in device manager.
I have removed the program, reinstalled, tried DTools Lite as well. I have installed SPTD 1.87x64, but when I reboot it still seems it isn't there. If I run the SPTD install again, it shows that it was never installed.
In the older versions of DTools Lite I used to use before you had the option to create a new virtual mount point, so it would create a new drive letter, but that option isn't here in Ultra.
If I manually mount, drag and drop, use image manager, widget, etc. I get error code 8 or a message that says "Insufficient resources to create target connection"
I have also disabled driver enforcement in Windows start-up and that doesn't help
So, I can't mount any images and it appears that the virtual mount point created in the install process is gone and I can't get it to reappear or reinstall with DTools install or SPTD install.
I'm sure something was probably just deleted from the registry and the keys are gone to allow the mount point creation or driver or something, but I can't pinpoint it.
Suggestions?
