Error when trying to run installer from mounted .ISO file

I am using a paid license of Daemon Tools Lite v. 10.1 on Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1. My issue is that I can successfully mount an .ISO file as a virtual drive; however, when I attempt to run an installer such as an .EXE or an .MSI which is contained in the .ISO, I get an error message reading "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." This appears whether the .ISO file is mounted from my local drive or over the network, and whether or not I run the installer as Administrator.

I tried emailing Disc-Soft tech support and got a (prompt) reply advising me to disable my antivirus software or "change settings in your antivirus to allow that software to run." I don't have issues running .EXE or .MSI installers from a physical drive, so I'm not convinced that's the issue. If anyone either knows otherwise, and can elaborate on the specific antivirus settings to change (we use Symantec Endpoint Protection v 12.1.5), or knows of another solution or workaround, I would be most grateful.

Newbie: Mounting ISO Image opens Autoplay

I don't understand what happened. Maybe my file got corrupted. It worked fine before but it's been a year or more since I've played the game. It's a backup of my beloved Vice City game (which I've been playing over and over and over and over and over and over... you get the idea... since it came out in 2002!). Can't find the stupid A/V cable for my PS2 so I backed up the disc as an ISO. This was a couple of years ago with my son's help. But it worked fine and I used to play it. Now, for some reason, when I mount it I get the autoplay menu pop-up! And there's no option for running the game there.

I've tried clicking to explore the files...looking through the files for any image files. I've tried extracting the ISO to the same directory as the ISO, and I tried extracting it to a subdirectory named the same thing as the ISO. I also tried converting the file to an MDS and also an MDX. When I try mounting both of those, I still get the autoplay pop-up. I've created all 3 types of virtual drives and tried to run it on each type since I am retarded and don't know which type to run it on for sure... and on all types, I get the autoplay pop-up.

What the HECK am I doing wrong?? Is my file corrupted maybe?

discsoftbusservice.exe will not work

Hey, I've been having problems with discsoftbusservice.exe, in that it simply will not run.
Infact I'm pretty sure It doesn't exist to run in the first place but I can't find anything to install it seperately.

I've tried installing DTLite (All latest versions) DTUltra and DTPro I've followed through with the instructions in the only other forum post I could find to do with this error but I still haven't gotten anything done.
The exact error I get when trying to boot any of the Daemon tools is "Initializing Error" "Dick Soft Bus Service is not running"

I'm using Windows 10, all anti virus is disabled, all install attempts were clean and no prior Daemon tool files were installed.

I do not have anything under Storage Controllers other than Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller everytime I install either.

Any help with the matter would be highly appreciated, thanks in advance.

When is the SCSI disc mounting issue goign to be resolved?

Hi - paid member - I emailed some time ago following the upgrade from 6. You confirmed that there is a problem with having to wait for 30 seconds between SCSI disc operations. This wasn't a problem in your previous versions.

You kindly replied saying that this was a priority (quite rightly!). Thinking this was about 4 months ago. Nice new GUI with 10 and other new fancy features. However, some real schoolboy errors with changing the command line structure and also the huge problem of the SCSI emulator issues.

You've been great for many years, but the present changes have caused people in the emulation community to leave in droves, and coding apps to use other disc-mounting software. I'm close tbh, but would like to give it a while longer given the years of previous good product.

In short - when will you guys fix the 30s delay on the SCSI drive operations and stop messing about with the command line (or provide legacy support)?

I have to validade my licence every day

I got my copy of Daemon Tools Pro Standard 5.2 with my motherboard Maximus VI Hero.
I never got any problems in windows 8/8.1. But now I installed windows 10 (clean installation), I installed Daemon Tools and the program works fine, but everyday I have to reaactivate my licence, it says that I had a hardware change. And I have to go to my account and revoke my computer and validate again.
What is causing this and how to fix it?

My copy of Daemon Tools 5.2 came with my board Maximus VI Hero. It worked fine on windows 8 and 8.1.
Now I'm using windows 10 (fresh install), it works fine, but every day I have to revoke my pc and validate the licence again, it says that it detected a hardware change (that I never do), and this happens every day.
What can be causing this?

How to keep iso file mounted

I just bought Daemon Tools Lite, and I can't figure out how to keep the ISO file mounted.

It's fine till I shut down my computer at night. Then when I start it the next morning the ISO file
is not mounted.

Hope there is a way to do this.

Can someone help?

Countdown timer on disc mount

I have a paid license for version 5 of Daemon Tools Pro Advanced.

Just about every time I go to mount a disc, I get a "license check" popup (which shouldn't happen), followed by a dialog saying there's a new version, with a countdown timer on the button to dismiss.

This is unacceptable.

How do I disable this behavior?

Hi, i'm using Daemon Tools Pro Advanced Edition, Version 6.0.0.0444 and i'm trying to locate virtual device manager, i know it used to be right under tools menu but i don't have that option anywhere so could you help me locate it...it would be of so much help sry for bad english and thx in advance

Daemon tools Lite 10 Unkown Error 50

My software gives me the following message:
"SCSI (or IDE) adapter is not supported in current configuration - your system may have changed. Do you want to reinstall SPTD?"
After clicking "install" on the above message I then receive an "unkown error. 50" message.
My computer is on Windows 10 (64bit) and I have tried all suggestions including removing the software and registry entries and then reinstalling the software but I still receive the same message.

Virtual drive won't show

Hey,
Daemon tools worked great for me untill a while ago when suddenlly the virtual drives disappeared from "My Computer". I tried uninstalling and installing again.
I also saw that in the preferences there's no letter for the drives and when I try to assign one, I get a message "Engine error code: 8".

Anyone? Please?

Does DAEMON have more aggressive ISO imaging?

I was trying to make iso out of a DVD using ImgBurn but then DRF error failed.
I pulled out my DAEMON Pro and iso-ed it easily.

Does DAEMON Pro have some better features inside that make this possible?
I'm very glad I bought this.

Writable Virtual Drive writing speed

I just purchased Daemon Tools Ultra in order to use the writable virtual drive feature and I created a new writable virtual drive but the application that is burning the virtual disc takes an hour and a half to burn a full audio CD. It won't let me re-mount it as SCSI or IDE to test those. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help!

REHASHED College course, Securom 7xx3

Good Afternoon/Evening;

I'm trying again (as my employer is giving me a hard time about not completing the course yet) to get a college course without the disk. My final goal is to have the course load virtually on both my MacBook and Laptop as needed.

Apparently it has SecuROM 8.03.0012. I sort of got it to work with DTLite5, but within minutes, I get the "Please insert original disk" error, and am unable to continue.

The file that seems to be called to stop me in my tracks is called x_______1.exe on the root of the dvd/image.

I am willing to share the mdx to those who know what they're talking about. :)

Windows10+DTPro6.1.0 - NO Securom Emulation?

Hello,
I used to run an application from my windows XP and through windows 8.1.
It is an English-Italian dictionary from Zanichelli called Ragazzini version 2003, on Cd-Rom.
I created an image as backup and in order to not carry the CD-rom with me around.
I used to mount it on a SCSI virtual device and activate Securom emulation with winXP and Win8.1.
It worked with no troubles

Now I installed Win10 and Daemon Tools Pro Advanced Edition 6.1.0.0484
Created the virtual SCSI device,
But i cannot see the advanced preferences to activate securom emulation,
Mounting and running my image does not work, the dictionary doesn't load.
SPTD is installed version 2.2

Now with windows 10 i can run it from the ORIGINAL cdrom, though, but i would like to run froma virtual device for faster execution and for backup purposes.

Anybody knows any solution?

Unable to mount an device

I can mount an iso file to DT drive but no drive letter is assigned to the image. If I choose to mount as an IDE drive, error message "Unable to mount an device" popped out.

How can I fixed it?

Please help!
